The exploration of the crude oil has tremendous economic advantages but these advantages are related to environmental concerns resulting from the oil spills. There are various procedures available for cleaning up the oil spills but those methods are not very cost effective. Therefore it becomes very important to move towards environmentally sustainable and cost effective methods. Researchers have examined the efficiency of human hair when subjugated to the recovery and reuse process and found it to be very successful. But we will be using human hair and corn silk together as they both are good oil sorbents and environment friendly. This is therefore a pinpoint that human hair and corn silk can be converted into booms and used as a low cost, environmentally friendly adsorbent for oil spill cleaning, particularly considering its reusability potential without changing the sorption characteristics. The human hair which goes in waste and the corn silk that is agriculture waste are cheap and can easily replace non- biodegradable oil sorbents. This is a rising field in which researchers need to concentrate further in order to explore the tremendous advantages it offers.
